With the log cabin boat, you sail to the most beautiful spots in nature for an adventurous overnight stay and choose your own view every day! Anyone aged 18 and above can and may sail it, no boating licence is required. Of course, we will give you a clear explanation about the boat and the sailing area beforehand. We offer this unique concept in four locations: the Bommelerwaard, the Biesbosch, the Land van Maas en Waal and the Linge.

Spend the night in the middle of nature

The log cabin boat will take you to places you would otherwise not easily get to: in the silence in the middle of nature, among special animals such as beavers, kingfishers and spoonbills. Moor at a quiet beach, or grassy shore. Some places even allow you to light a campfire. But you can also choose to moor in a nice city port and grab a bite to eat in one of the many restaurants.

All our locations in the Netherlands have their own unique charm in terms of character and nature. In the Log Cabin Boat Magazine, which you will find on board, we give detailed tips for beautiful mooring spots and fun activities for each location. Nature has never been so close! Check out the different locations here and book directly for an unforgettable adventure.

Number of people

A maximum of 6 people are allowed on board the log cabin boat. On board, you will find a fixed double bed and a dining area with double sofa that can easily be converted into an additional double bed. A 5th and 6th person can spend the night on board on an air mattress on the floor or possibly in a tent on the shore (bring your own (single) air mattress and/or tent).

There is a full kitchen on board and a small toilet room. On the aft deck, you will find a lovely warm outdoor shower. The furnishings are basic but you have all the comforts you need. Read more about the equipment here.

Born from personal experience

The log cabin boat is not just a ‘shed’ on a boat, but was born out of experience. The inventors grew up on and by the water. During conversations in the family yacht and shipbuilding business, the question arose:

They soon came to the conclusion that the typical details on luxury yachts, such as a high-gloss shiny hull, beautiful teak panelling and teak decks, were not really necessary. The answer to the question was mainly: space, contact with the water and the environment, maintenance-free boating and ease of use. This quickly gave rise to the concept: The Log Cabin Boat.

The boat was given plenty of usable indoor and outdoor space through its ‘square’ design, contact with the water through its fairly low hull and user-friendly through its simplicity. A prototype was built at the yacht yard in 2011. The first season saw a lot of use of the log cabin boat by the family in particular. Even senior preferred the log cabin boat to the more luxurious private ship he was used to. The first season was followed by a couple of years in which the prototype was rented out.

Due to the purely positive reactions, the concept was further developed and the log cabin boat made even better. The current model, of which 23 are currently being rented out, is, as far as its makers are concerned, the ideal boat for enjoying nature to the fullest!
